A good week to be a punk
The finest of all the festivals is clearly Rebellion in Blackpool, which treats us to four days of wall-to-wall punk goodness. I don’t really know where to start with the lineup, so let’s just flag a few to get you started: Wonk Unit, Spunk Volcano & the Eruptions, Snakerattlers, Spoilers and The Casualties. I’m so jealous of everyone going that it’s giving me a stress headache.
A great line up aswell for Sunburn #5 at the Windmill on Saturday, featuring Frauds,Table Scraps, DITZ, Gaygirl and loads more.
If you remember Mclusky, then you might be interested in seeing Mclusky* in Glasgow on Sunday. It’s the same but better, as Damien Sayell of The St. Pierre Snake Invasion is on bass and vocals now. Slime City and Cutty’s Gym also on the bill.
Glasgow readers havea tough choice to make here, though, as Sunday also sees the start ofthe Dead Kennedys tour at The Garage. Other shows includeLiverpool, Leeds, Brighton and London in the following week.
If you missedRebellion, there’s an excellent night of trash and rockabilly onoffer in Huddersfield on Friday with Snakerattlers and Zeroand the No No’s.
It really is a greatweek to be a punk, as there is also an all-dayer at New River Studiosto be enjoyed. Another long list of acts, including Scout Leader,Mice Ön Mars and Human Leather, and all proceeds go tothe charity MIND.
And finally, there’sa short tour from Starsha Lee, She Made Me Do It and ScantRegard running through Penzance, Cardiff and Exeter this weekend.
