Chaz & Dave by Charlie Boy Manson x Rhys Thomas

Manchester duo Charlie Boy Manson and Rhys Thomas press play on their city and drop ‘Chaz & Dave’, a synth-infused ode to the place that changed them. Emcee and producer respectively, the pair collab on Loose Lips where the former dropped his debut album back in 2018.

“An unruly acid line, haunting synth and chunky beat, all made entirely on hardware, intertwine with vivid city stories, a hard-hitting chorus and self-assured, brazen lyricism.” This assurance has been gained through Manson’s lengthy time on the circuit and notable supports through that time, but it seems now is the time to release music. Ending 2024 strongly and starting this one equally so, it will be fascinating to see where his sound takes him as he continues to branch out and work with different producers. No stranger to the circuit and with good links in the scene, Manson could be running things again soon.

Spaces like Loose Lips are useful in bringing these types of artists together and it is no surprise 2025 looks to be a big one for them in their 10th Anniversary year. You can pre order the full ‘LL026’ now on their Bandcamp, where you can also get the bespoke hand-painted artwork for the project. It drops January 17th and will feature this ‘Chaz & Dave’ single as well as the instrumental, so go support that independent goodness!
