Freakouts join the pressure

Described as ‘that “fuck you” kind of punk’, Freakouts was a band created in the hope of inspiring a bit of carnage. With a strew of raw and sweaty live shows in their wake and many more to come, it looks like the band are achieving that goal with ferocious energy and ambition. Their DIY punk ethic makes them an important addition to the Public Pressure community, where they join the growing network of independent minds connecting, collaborating and amplifying subcultural sounds. https://youtu.be/leEQl7MQ6uc Hailing from Guildford and nurtured by its thriving music scene, partly in thanks to the town’s Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), Freakouts take punk’s ethic to its very core. Beyond their impressive sound, this is a band who truly do things their own way. Not enjoying where it was going, they splintered away from their original band after just one show in pursuit of something that better expressed their unique identity. This is particularly manifested in Freakouts’ songwriting approach, which boldly defies traditional 3-minute pop templates in favour of experimentation. Band member Charlie Hinton has explained in the past that they are not afraid of trying out a 3-minute breakdown of singular chorus.
