I felt I had nothing to live for and nowhere to go

Soraya from Gravey opens up about losing everything and starting over in her latest track 'Self Esteem' from their new EP 'Who's Yer Daddy'."Nick sent me the instrumentals when I was in Brixton town hall with everything I owned, homeless, hoping to get put in emergency housing. I felt I had nothing to live for and nowhere to go.The lyrics for 'Self Esteem' poured out in five minutes. It’s a personal reflection, about responsibility, pressure and frustration. I was fed up with making the same mistakes. It's hard to keep grounded with the distractions of empty thrills and empty sex filling our misery. We forget about ourselves. When I wrote 'Self Esteem' I was trying to take responsibility for the hole I’d put myself in." Soraya Stay in touch with Gravey:BandcampSpotifyFacebookInstagram
