Ninjaman joins international cast for anti-crime EP

Bass legends Monkey Marc and Pinch have joined forces for a major cross-genre community-focused project, showcasing a mix of UK and Jamaican talent, including Ninjaman, Riko Dan, Irah, Killa P, Rider Shafique, Richie Spice and more.

The Graveyard Riddim EP features lyrics laid down by Ninjaman before he was sentenced to life in prison for murder. With his past reputation for violent pro-gun lyrics, the EP’s denouncement of guns and crime marks a real change in direction. In his own words, “Don’t make my mistake be your downfall.”

Monkey Marc saysthat 20 artists from Jamaica and the UK got behind the concept andwere keen to spread the message: “I guess it’s not a topic thatpeople sing about that often, so the artists were pretty keen to jumpon it. Our idea was to inspire youth with a strong anti-crime andanti-violence message, through the voices of iconic artists who youngpeople would look up to, and exciting up-and-comers – all of whomgot fully behind the concept.”

And if you’re in Australia this autumn, Monkey Marc will be taking the album on tour with Rider Shafique and Fyah Roiall.
