Obsession and seduction
Big & The Fat go full-on DIY for their new single 'My Thang' released on We Can Do It Records. And that's exactly how we like it.
“The track touches on themes of obsession and seduction, so we wanted it to sound alike. We chose to record and produce it ourselves in our home studio, except for the drums which were done at Gun Factory Studios, engineered by Constantin, our bassist. We love the rhythms of monotonous krautrock music and simple industrial bass lines, as well as electronic dance artists like Peaches, Chemical Brothers and Blawan. "
There is also a video on its way, planned and shot with the same DIY approach and we can't wait to see it.
“We wanted a video that had the same grit and movement as the track, so we made something simple on iPhone with one long tracking shot around a brutalist warehouse in Silvertown. Some of the building is temporarily being used as an artists’ hub (before it gets torn down and turned into flats), but a lot of it is still disused and holds some original industrial charm."
