Pijn debut album set for October release
Manchester-based experimental rockers Pijn are on the verge of releasing their debut album Loss. Due for release on 25 October through Holy Roar Records, they announced the album's intent with the video for 'Distress', an hour-long “looped, multi changing visual and audio experience” featuring different versions of the single buried within, manipulated audio from Loss and spoken word contributions. Yes, Pijn do things their own way.The “anti-music video” was only available for streaming for a few days but gave a taste of what audiences could expect. As the song shifts through the video, the idea of “degradation through repetition [reflects] the mental strain of replaying the same moment of experiencing loss over and over again.” They talk further about wanting to disrupt “the casual, throwaway viewing experience of many music videos. Hearing the song requires direct action and attention from the viewer - because it is hidden within a long, meandering film.”Don't worry if you missed the limited stream, you can also get a taste of the upcoming album with the official video for 'Denial'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMgDrazKIe4 If this has whetted your appetite, Pijn will be the main support on tour with Vennart through November:19 NOV / Birmingham / Castle & Falcon20 NOV / Bristol / The Fleece22 NOV / London / The Dome23 NOV / Manchester / The Deaf Institute24 NOV / Glasgow / King Tut’s25 NOV / Newcastle / The Cluny Stay in touch with PijinBandcampFacebookInstagramTwitter
