The Sly Persuaders return with Saboteurs

The Sly Persuaders are back this week as they release new LP, Saboteurs. Avoiding the 'difficult' second album cliché, Saboteurs is every bit the fuzzy blues-infused garage rock record that you want it to be. But while it's a lot of fun to listen to, the message behind it is suitably bleak for these troubled times, using themes of “poverty, disenfranchisement and existentialism” to show us the harsh realities of modern life.

The band havedescribed the record as “a preapocalyptic concept album” but thatdoesn't mean that all hope is lost. They've used EcoMix colouredvinyl for the release, which takes waste plastic to create a'lucky-dip' set of coloured discs, each one unique and a small steptowards reducing the impact of consumerism on the environment.

You can pick up the album on vinyl or digital release from 28 June, and there is a full album launch at The Shacklewell Arms on 6 July (free entry FTW).
